Aims & Objectives

  • To create social awareness about the problems of women
  • To develop the self confidence in Women.
  • To guide about Women Welfare Laws.
  • To assert the importance of spiritual, economic, social, racial and gender equality.
  • To highlight the importance of health and hygiene.
  • To develop multidisciplinary approach for the overall personality development.
  • To organize seminars, workshops relating to women development.
  • To impart life skills.
  • To encourage socializing skills-interaction with society,parents,teachers and peer groups.

Roles & Functions :
The Women’s Guidance Cell ,Maithri was started in this college in the year 1994 with the initiative from University Womens Association and a group of dedicated teachers to equip and empower women.
The Women’s Guidance Cell has been continuously organizing various activities to create social awareness about the problems of women . Programmes are organized to teach new skills and broaden the intellectual horizon of girl students in particular. The Cell organize seminars, workshops for creating general awareness and orientation of students, for their active and sustained participation in the activities of Cell. Various training programmes are organized to create awareness about self-employment schemes for the encouragement of self-reliance among women. The Cell also seeks to empower young women to attain emotional, physical and mental freedom to withstand the changing phases throughout their life. The Women’s Guidance Cell functions with the added aim to enhance self-esteem of young women and empower them in taking pertinent decisions. Other important objectives include giving career guidance, conducting health awareness classes, arranging classes about community living .
The Women’s Guidance Cell also has an endowment in honour of Prof.PremaBai to conduct an endowment lecture.
